Kanwal Bokharey is the CEO and Founding Director of Nexus Development Solutions, with over 25 years of experience in development finance, investment mobilization, and private sector engagement. She has mobilized more than USD 700 million from private sector, diaspora, and international partners, driving impact across economic, social, and humanitarian sectors in emerging areas including AI and digital development, data centers, health, tourism, climate resilience, equity and debt financing, local manufacturing, education, technology start-ups, and ESG investing. She currently advises national and international organizations on investment, blended financing, and strategies.
She has held senior leadership positions with national and international organizations. She is a former Senior Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Advisor and Lead with the U.S. Government; led Economic and Financial Sector Development at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Government of Switzerland; served as Team Lead for Civil Society Strengthening at the Aga Khan Foundation; and was Senior Director at the Family Planning Association of Pakistan/International Planned Parenthood. Kanwal specializes in business-enabling environments, structuring innovative investment platforms, and advancing ESG-aligned and blended finance solutions that deliver scalable, impact-driven results. She has received training in international leadership at the universities of Berkeley, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz; in Innovation for Economic Growth at Harvard Kennedy School; and in AI Essentials for Business at Harvard Business School.
